dropping to PCIE 4.0 fixes it for some people but not all, seems like there's at least some problem with PCIE 5.0 somewhere

Der8auer has a good video on it. But he reckoned pre launch that it was isolated to the 5080, so this is interesting the 5090 has joined the party. He had to conduct his review in PCIe 4.0. Mid way through his card just completely stopped on PCIe 5.0 with all previous attempts to fix it stop working.

X670E mobos seem to have a similar problem on the M.2 slots, where Gen5 drives in Gen5 slots can drop to Gen1 speeds.Rob_B wrote: 08 Feb 2025 09:25 dropping to PCIE 4.0 fixes it for some people but not all, seems like there's at least some problem with PCIE 5.0 somewhere
MSI have released firmware fixes, with others expected to follow.
