There have been some quite serious looking security issues with Asus routers recently, to do with exploits turning them into a botnet. I suggest checking into that, and (if you haven't) at least making sure your firmware is up-to-date. Little late but if anyone stumbles on the thread.
Teletonika make a range of OpenWRT based WiFi / Ethernet / 4G SIM routers that support 4G failover.
The range is mostly aimed at industrial applications, with many models coming with dual SIM slots and integrated GPS.
They are not the most intuitive or the cheapest but if you take a look on eBay you might find a TCR100 which was a lower cost device aimed at the consumer market.
