ASUS DDR4 to DDR5 adapter

Post by AGTDenton »

This just became useful, if 3 years late, I'm sure it would be very welcomed right now with the prices.

Not sure if it ever saw the light of day though.

Take a stick of DDR4 memory, place it onto the converter card, and insert it into a motherboard’s DDR5 slot. However, if the idea is simple, in an engineering sense, it’s far more complicated.

Don't be using a Noctua D15 cooler then, those would never fit :)

It wouldn't surprise me if that was one of the reasons it didn't materialise. Along with a general steady decline in price a year after this was originally leaked.

I am sure there was actual DDR3-DDR4 adapters.

In reality if it can work and can be made cheap enough someone will make it, of course the more ridiculous ram gets the more someone will be willing to pay for such devices.
