If you don't mind taking a risk,the Ryzen 7 7700 non-X and Ryzen 9 9700X are really cheap from Aliexpress. Around £150 to £160 and £200ish delivered included VAT. The Ryzen 5 7400F/7500F have been under £100 delivered with VAT.
These are mix of OEM and Chinese retail CPUs,so probably not the full AMD warranty

Nominally yes, but in my experience not really. I hardly ever order from Aliexpress but did recently to buy some cables. The vendor shipped the wrong ones, but the refund process was such a nightmare that I gave up part way through.

There was a lot of "you'll get a refund at some point after it has been returned and received by the shipper", originally they wanted me to pay for the return shipping to China. And it was at no point clear whether they wanted me to return everything, or just the wrong ones. In any case, I think it's likely that whichever I chose would have been considered the wrong option.

However, if the 5700X3D comes back in again at £110-120 as it was a few months ago I think I'd probably take a punt.

Don't forget anything £135 or above attracts import tax too (I know you've included that somewhat already CAT)
Theres a 7700 on there for £135.07 right now annoyingly!

I am in the market to upgrade one of my rigs. Its got a Ryzen 5 2600 in at at the moment. Whats the best bang for buck, around £150 new or 2nd hand. Usage is a bit of gaming, photoshop and davinchi resolve.

Yep latest bios supports it and thats what I am running.
