Welcome to TekHeads

We collect personal information from you when you register for an account, post content, or interact with the Forum. This information includes:

• Personal Information: Uniquely identifiable name, a personal password, email address, and any other information you provide during registration.
• Uploaded Content: Any text, images, videos, or other content you post or upload to the Forum.

The information you provide may be used for the following purposes:

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Forum.
• To communicate with you, including responding to your inquiries or providing support.
• To improve and personalize the user experience on the Forum.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service.

When you upload images or any other content to the Forum, the following conditions apply:

Public Availability: Any images or content you upload to the Forum may be publicly visible to other users or visitors. The Forum operates in a publicly accessible space, and by uploading content, you acknowledge that it could be viewed, downloaded, and shared by others, including automated systems such as web crawlers, bots, or other programs.

Download and Distribution: Once uploaded, images and other content may be downloaded or shared by users or automated systems, and the Forum cannot control or restrict the distribution of such content beyond the Forum's platform. It is important to note that once content is shared publicly on the Forum, it may be copied, downloaded, or distributed by other users, and we cannot guarantee that it will remain private.

No Ownership Over Uploaded Content: By uploading images or content, you retain ownership of that content, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use that content within the Forum.

Your information is collected via two ways. Firstly, by browsing “TekHeads” will cause the phpBB software to create a number of cookies, which are small text files that are downloaded to your device's web browser temporary files. The first two cookies just contain a user identifier (hereinafter “user-id”) and an anonymous session identifier (hereinafter “session-id”), automatically assigned to you by the phpBB software. A third cookie will be created once you have browsed topics within “Welcome to TekHeads” and is used to store which topics have been read, thereby improving your user experience.

We may also create cookies external to the phpBB software whilst browsing “TekHeads”, though these are outside the scope of this document which is intended to only cover the pages created by the phpBB software. The second way in which we collect your information is by what you submit to us. This can be, and is not limited to: posting as an anonymous user (hereinafter “anonymous posts”), registering on “TekHeads” (hereinafter “your account”) and posts submitted by you after registration and whilst logged in (hereinafter “your posts”).

We may use third-party services, such as avatar hosting, analytics providers, or other hosting services, which may collect and process information about your interactions with the Forum. These services may have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

We will retain your personal information and uploaded content for as long as your account remains active. Accounts will be deleted after 730 days of inactivity. However, posts will be retained under the 'guest' or 'anonymous' user. This means any content you uploaded will still remain and may still be identifiable to you.
If at any time you wish to delete your account or uploaded content, you may do so by contacting us at app.php/contactadmin.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorised access or disclosure. However, no security system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute protection of your data.

Your password is ciphered (a one-way hash) so that it is secure. However, it is recommended that you do not reuse the same password across a number of different websites. Your password is the means of accessing your account at “Tekheads.net”, so please guard it carefully and under no circumstance will anyone affiliated with “Tekheads.net”, phpBB or another 3rd party, legitimately ask you for your password. Should you forget your password for your account, you can use the “I forgot my password” feature provided by the phpBB software. This process will ask you to submit your user name and your email, then the phpBB software will generate a new password to reclaim your account.

The Forum is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated policy on the Forum or through other communication channels. Your continued use of the Forum after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
